PSY 370A Seminar: Introduction to Counseling

Prerequisite: PSY 205, PSY 211, PSY 239 and either PSY 401 or PSY 431; or permission of instructor. This course provides an overview of counseling theory and practice. Students will learn about professional and ethical issues, history and status of counseling as a profession, major schools of counseling theory and practice, client needs throughout the lifespan, basic counseling and case conceptualization skills, and present and future work settings of counselors.
