4PLUS program In Any Major and Management/Information Systems
Program Overview
Hood students from all majors are eligible to participate in a dual-degree program that allows for an accelerated master's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), within about one year after the completion of their bachelor's degree. This 4PLUS program is designed for highly motivated students who have the desire to build career options into their undergraduate curriculum and earn a master's degree in MIS. the program is especially relevant to students majoring in either computer science or business administration, but it is also available to students from other disciplines.
Foundation Courses
All students must complete certain foundation courses designed to provide the appropriate background knowledge. Undergraduate courses that are used to meet the foundations must be completed with a grade of B- or better.
The MIS foundation courses are: IT 510, CSIT 512, MGMT 550 and MGMT 551.
Students majoring in computer science are exempt from the foundation courses if they have completed the following (or equivalent) courses from their undergraduate program:
Students majoring in business administration are exempt from the MGMT 550 and MGMT 551 MIS foundation courses if they have completed the following (or equivalent) courses from their undergraduate program:
Students not majoring in computer science or business administration must complete the four prerequisite foundation courses in addition to th e30 credits required for the MIS degree.
