SOWK 327 Gerontological Social Work: Policy and Practice

Prerequisite: SOWK 101 or permission of the instructor.

This course introduces students to an in-depth understanding of the issues facing older adults and the policies and programs created to address these issues. The goal of this course is to expose students to clinical practice and policy issues for older adults in the current context of health care in the U.S. In addition to classroom instruction, students will meet regularly with a senior adult and be exposed to senior services in the local community.
