MEST 300 Cultures of the Middle East

Prerequisite: 200-level ART or PHIL course, or permission of instructor. The goals of this course are to define what we commonly refer to as the “Middle East” and to study the cultures of this region within the framework of various disciplines. Emphasis is placed on the long history of the Middle East and the role it plays in our understanding of the region today.
