Study of selected works from the Generation of 1898 to the present, interpreting the historical and ideological crises that shaped the Spanish 20th century. Focus on the impact of the 1898 colonial war, the civil war, the dictatorship and the transition to democracy. The course will examine authors such as Unamuno, Baroja, , Lorca, Machado and Carmen Riera.

This course will focus on selected major works of Spanish cinema produced from the 1930s to the present.
