NUR 203 Concepts of Pharmacology and Pathophysiology

Prerequisite: Admission to BSN program and NUR 201, NUR 303 and BIOL 232. The course builds on foundational sciences and enhances the student's comprehension of the scientific concepts of selected pathophysiologic conditions and the related pharmacologic interventions. Emphasis is placed on commonly occurring acute and chronic illnesses, therapeutic interventions, and nursing implications. Major classes of drugs that are used to treat these illnesses and support of organ and system function are explored.
